DBSA Colorado Springs to Celebrate Brain Awareness Week 2024
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) Colorado Springs, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, education, and resources for individuals living with mood disorders, today announced programming for its celebration of Brain Awareness Week, March 11-17.
Brain Awareness Week, hosted by The Dana Foundation, is a global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science. Every March, participants host imaginative activities in their communities that share the wonders of the brain, and the impact brain science has on our everyday lives. From colleges and hospitals to advocacy groups and corporations, organizers across various sectors unite to share the marvels of the brain.
“DBSA Colorado Springs is very excited to celebrate Brain Awareness Week 2024 with our Colorado Springs community. The annual BAW is a globally recognized campaign used to promote education and awareness of new developments in brain research and how these incredible new discoveries can help not only the peers in our community, but worldwide as well,” said Marissa Valdez, DBSA-CS Board President. “Understanding these advancements is crucial in supporting ourselves and our peers in navigating and thriving with mood disorders. We invite the entire community to celebrate BAW and the exciting advancements that can offer help and hope for all.”
Participating in Brain Awareness Week offers an excellent opportunity to showcase one’s work to the public. By joining the campaign, individuals and organizations can advance their missions within the wider scope of a global education initiative. They can spread awareness about the significance of brain science and its vital role in fostering healthier and more productive lives. Moreover, their involvement helps empower the public with the information necessary to make informed decisions about their health while inspiring the next generation of scientists, ensuring a promising future for neuroscientific discovery.
“I envision a world where neuroscience reflects the aspirations of people from all walks of life and improves their life’s journey,” said Caroline Montojo, President and CEO of Dana Foundation.
DBSA-CS is excited to partner with community organizations like Hillside and Meadows Park Community Center to expand the reach of its Brain Awareness Week initiatives this year. By pooling our resources and expertise, DBSA-CS aspires to ignite curiosity and foster greater awareness about the intricate workings of the brain and its profound implications for leading a fulfilling and healthy life.
“One of our focuses in serving the community is providing access to resources and outlets that encourage health and wellness. We strongly believe that there should not be any barriers for individuals to live happy and healthy lives.
