COVID-19 UPDATE (10/18/21)

We at DBSA Colorado Springs are pleased to announce that we will be resuming 5 of our in-person groups starting after Labor Day. Please note that we are no longer at our old Bijou location so we will be meeting in new locations.

Our in-person groups will be the Veterans Group Monday at 7 pm, the Teen & Young Adults Group Tuesday at 7 pm, the Family & Friends Group Tuesday at 7 pm, Wednesday’s Later Life group at 12:30 pm at the Senior Center (our only group that has not changed location), and the Wednesday Night Adults group at 7 pm.

The groups that will remain virtual for now are Monday’s Teen & Young Adult Group at 7 pm, Thursday Night Adults Group at 7 pm, and Friday Adults at 1 pm which will continue virtually indefinitely.

The well-being of all Attendees, Facilitators, Staff and other Volunteers is central to our purpose and remains our top priority as we respond to the current global health challenge. We are glad you are here and want to support you as fully as possible while providing a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. To do so our Board of Directors currently requires us to follow a few extra guidelines for our in-person groups.

For the safety and comfort of everyone, we ask that if you are not vaccinated, please wear a mask. We have masks available for those who do not have their own. Anyone who wants to wear a mask is certainly welcome to do so.

For those who do not feel comfortable with in-person groups or these requirements, we offer the following Zoom groups. Please let the facilitator know if you would like email invites to these.

Monday evenings at 7 pm – Teen & Young Adults

Thursday evenings at 7 pm – Adult Group

Friday afternoons at 1 pm – Adult Group

In the event state or local mandates are put in place regarding mask requirements or limiting the size of group gatherings, we will follow those guidelines. We must also follow any change in policy of the organizations which so generously provide us space to hold our groups. You may check for updates and announcements by phone at 719-477-1515, or on our Facebook page at You may also provide the facilitator with your name, email, and phone number to be placed on our announcements list to receive updates on major changes (your information is always kept confidential).

For contact tracing purposes, you may voluntarily provide your contact information and preferred contact method to the facilitator of the group each week so that we can notify you if someone becomes ill with COVID-19 and you may have been exposed. This information is kept for no more than 4 weeks and is completely confidential. We also ask that if you are diagnosed with COVID-19 that you call our office at 719-477-1515 and anonymously report which meeting(s) you attended over the past 2 weeks so that we may contact those exposed while respecting your confidentiality.

By following these simple guidelines, we can help ensure a safe and comforting experience for all of us.
